SJF Co-Leads Investment in Jopwell
New York, NY – SJF Ventures is pleased to announce it has co-led the $7.5 million Series-A investment in NY-based Jopwell, a company that matches Black, Latino and Native American professionals with career opportunities. Cue Ball co-led the investment with participation from Kapor Capital, Y-Combinator, Omidyar Network, Teneo Holdings and Valar Ventures.
Minorities are underrepresented in many sectors and functional roles to the detriment of both minority professionals as well as companies that would benefit from a more diverse employee base. Employers rank diversity recruiting as a top priority for which they have no easy solution. Jopwell works with racial and ethnic minorities across professional tenure–from college students through to experienced professionals–to match candidates with employers looking to augment the diversity of their job applicants. In addition to job-matching, the company distributes content to its users focused on career advancement and training. As the leading career platform for diverse candidates, Jopwell acts as a single source platform from which to recruit Black, Latino and Native American professionals. Jopwell is proud to have clients such as Goldman Sachs, Prudential, Pfizer, BlackRock, Facebook, AirBnB, Conde Nast and New York Times.
